This impression mat from PME is ideal for use with a range of edible and non-edible materials including sugarpaste, fondant, gumpaste, marzipan, and even modelling chocolate.
This textured embossing mat is double sided, with grooves on both sides. This allows you to have either the bark effect in the indentations, or as a fully raised pattern.
Simply knead the sugarpaste, and roll to your desired thickness. Lay your impression mat on your fondant, roll over this lightly once more, and then peel the mat away!
Alternatively, if you want only a lightly impressed design, use a cake smoother to run over the mat instead of a rolling pin.
